CRISP is working with MSOs that have applied with the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) to become State Designated. Once an MSO becomes State Designated, they will be eligible to apply with CRISP to become a sub-recipient of the REC cooperative agreement to receive direct assistance funds from the ONC. As sub-recipients to the CRISP REC, MSOs will provide the direct assistance support to 1,000 Maryland primary care providers. Each MSO will be eligible to receive up to $4,035 per provider based on achieving milestones that the ONC has defined in the REC program. CRISP REC staff will provide support to MSOs in the following areas:
- Comprehensive REC program assistance
- Provider education about the benefits of partnering with MSOs for EHR products and services
- REC sub-recipient enrollment, milestone documentation and ONC reporting
- Access to ONC, HITRC and REC provider communication materials and resources
- Support for connecting MSOs and providers to the CRISP HIE
