CRS Product Release for October 2024

CRS Product Release Summary

October 2024

Below is a recap of the CRISP Reporting Services (CRS) product features updated on the CRS Portal (reports.crisphealth.org) this month.

Update to Hospital Names

Hospital names throughout CRS have been updated to reflect the hospital’s formal name according to the HSCRC. These changes impact several hospitals. Below is a crosswalk of the prior names to the formal hospital names as they now appear in CRS. These changes are applied to all CCLF and Case Mix-based reporting suites including MADE, MPA Monitoring Reports, MDPCP Reporting Suite, Multi-Payer Reporting Suite, and all Case Mix and Regulatory Reports. Users should note that these changes will impact the alphabetical order of hospitals when presented in filters or reports in this manner.

Multi-Payer Reporting Suite

CRS has added two new reports and implemented enhancements to the Multi-Payer Reporting.

Quality Measure Dashboard

The Quality Measure Dashboard allows users to view performance of a subset of the CMS Core Set of Health Care Quality Measures for Medicaid Health Home Programs as well as other quality indicator measures. The dashboard’s drilldown feature provides deeper insights into specific measures, enabling users to understand trends and patterns within their population better.

The measures are calculated at the beneficiary level on a rolling 12-month basis that ends 3 months prior to the latest available claims data in the application.

Health Equity by Demographics

The Health Equity by Demographics (Quality) report enables users to analyze quality measures across various demographic categories. These categories can be viewed individually or compared simultaneously through multiple charts. Beneficiary-level measures, such as AMR, HB, and CBP, are displayed as bar charts, while rate-based or count measures are shown in monthly line charts. The Demographic Category selection dictates how the data is segmented in the visualizations, and choosing the same or a different category in the Separate Charts menu will further divide the data across multiple charts.

Multi-Payer Reports

With the inclusion of these new reports, this Dashboard presents measure performance for a subset of quality indicators important to CRS users and the State overall:

  • Asthma Medication Ratio (AMR)
  • Hemoglobin A1c Poor Control for Patients With Diabetes (HBD)
  • Controlling High Blood Pressure (CBP-AD)
  • Ambulatory Care Visits for SSI Children (MDH Measure)
  • Ambulatory Care Visits for SSI Adults (MDH Measure)
  • Follow-Up After Emergency Department Visit for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse or Dependence (FUA-HH)
  • Follow-Up After Hospitalization for Mental Illness (FUH-HH)
  • Initiation and Engagement of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse or Dependence Treatment (IET-HH)
  • Prenatal and Postpartum Care – Timeliness of Postpartum Care (PPC–AD)
  • Prenatal and Postpartum Care – Timeliness of Prenatal Care (PPC–CH)
  • Admission to an Institution from the Community (AIF–HH)
  • Ambulatory Care: Emergency Department (ED) Visits (AMB-HH)
  • Inpatient Utilization (IU-HH)
  • Prevention Quality Indicator (PQI) 92
Reports enable users to view an aggregate comparison of their panel’s measure performance to the Medicare, Medicaid, or overall state comparison groups.

Reports also contain beneficiary-drill through capability to identify beneficiaries in your panel who have met (or have not met) the measures.

The User Guide has been updated to provide details on this Dashboard and Health Equity by Demographics (Quality) Report. A brief demo is available here to help orient users to these new reports.
